To believe in God and not to obey his "rules" because then you would be going against your own beliefs, but as I do not follow a monotheistic religion it is not something I give a great deal of thought to

It is better to reach for the stars and hit the roof then to attempt to excuse yourself from trying by denying the moral law giver. Is murder any less wrong if I deny God's existance? So it is the same with the other sins. Denying God's existance doesn't equl being more moral as some suggest. It is simply denying the standard.

Both are scary to think about....
If you do belive in God you have to obey his rules...
But if you dont belive in God why are we here? Is thier a purpose for us?

According to the Bible, it is worse to not belive in Him. Also, we all are guilty of believing and not obeying.

Christians can repent and be forgiven by their God. So there good even if they do bad. Its a nice little feature of Christianity.

either way hell will be just as bad, however, I think that it might be just a bit worse for the one who knew better but still chose to do wrong.

like "i didn't know...no fair"...that you can make if you believed
but didn't obey...
