A local grocery store sold me spoiled milk, when I took the milk back to them they agreed it was spoiled, diposed of the carton, but the manager REFUSED to refund the money I paid for the milk even though the cashier vouched that I bought the milk ten minutes ago..... Who can I report them to for selling rotten milk and refusing a refund? Any suggestions?

local health department, better business bureau, if they are a chain then you can also report them to the corporate HQ.

If you live in the USA, you should write to the Better Business Bureau, https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx

I believe if there are 3 complaints filed within a short period of time against a private business they will be considered for revocation of the business license.

The BBB DOES help but it sometimes takes a while to get the ball rolling, and they are specific about what they can and cannot do!

My husband actually worked for a business that was reported on to the BBB because of similiar poor business relations and the BBB is actually taking VERY serious action (my husband left the company a few months ago and we don't quite know what happened, but his boss was actually having legal charges filed against him and the business is now under new ownership....)

If it is a chain store, like a public national store like Walgreens or something, you would have to write to the company itself. Just go over the manager's head; provide as much info as you can, like his name, etc. Usually big-business companies will literally throw money and discounts at you just to shut up dissent (believe me, I worked at JC Penney's, and every time a customer complained - and often even unfairly - JC Penney's would dispense vouchers and coupons and store credits like they were printing Ben Franklins in the back or something. It was insane.)

Contact the Business Bureau and report them.

The BBB will not do anything. They can't. So don't waste your time.

I'm assuming this is in the US. Contact your local health department. Many largest counties (and even some smaller ones) have web sites where you can simply fill out a form.

Health department and Better Business Bureau. Let them know first and also tell them that you are going to let the papers know. :)
