What do you do when you have a slow day at work? I'm usually so busy that I don't know how to handle myself when things get slower... any suggestions?

I steal office supplies.
Go tape down the button that hangs the phone up then when they answer it it keeps ringing and they can't figure it out.
You can also tape over the speaker end of the phone so when they answer they can't hear the other person.
Move peoples furniture while they are at lunch.
I spent some time working at the State so I had a lot of time to mess around.

I think that you found something to do. Either that or Spider Solitare is a good choice.
Just make sure that if your company has a "no personal internet use" policy...that you're careful about who sees you playing around. My last job....they could record all the computer usage for all the workers...and more than a few girls got fired for e-mailing jokes and IM'ing friends.

Bored I understand. Slow day? No such thing in my line of work. When I'm bored, I just put aside what I'm working on and start working on something completely different.

Do things that will help up to not be slowed down when you have a lot of work. You are being paid to work, so do it. Or you may not have "it" in the future.

Clean, work on the things that weren't urgent before and have time to work on now, do inventory on the office supplies, etc... They're paying you to work, so if you have nothing to do that you would normally do, be creative, if you can't find misc little chores to do, as co-workers if they need help with anything.

Im at work know and bored, so I just answer questions, talk on the phone, or Christmas shop online.
