No. Some people are just plain stupid and inconsiderate to others.

Shoveling into the street is inconsiderate. Instead, the snow should go onto your lawn. That way, it doesn't make a mess for anyone else, such as people trying to park, as you said. Also, when the snow melts, the water will go into your lawn and do it some good (important if you live in a dry-weather state), instead of being wasted in the storm drain system.

The space between the walkway and the street is usually the width of the walkway or less. As the snowplow clears the street the snow piles up quite rapidly in that narrow space. Best to toss the walkway snow onto the lawn. This is also beneficial for the lawn since it will build up the moisture content for early spring growth.

In my town there is an ordinance against shoveling snow onto the street as it causes a safety hazard. Problem is getting police to enforce it. Not like the evidence is leaving right away! People do it because they really aren't thinking about what they are doing. They are only concerned with shoveling and grumbling about shoveling and not about the cars sliding on their snow. It is the "me" generation, only think about me and not about consideration for others...

That's ridiculous and rude! It is only going to come back to them when the plows come thru... As a kid I used to shovel it onto the lawn, the bigger the pile, the bigger the snow bunker!!! If I was there I would help you shovel.... I miss the snow....
