if god doesn't listen to you pray for your loved on, why will he listen to random cartoon heads on YA who don't even know your loved one?

this place is for questions and answers...not begging for things like money, prayer, or food.

sorry, people...this is my 4th account from suspensions when i violate the guidelines. i don't report anyone. and i won't report prayer requests....but it is a double standard. why can Christians get away with violating the guidelines?

note: if i didn't have so many suspended accounts, i wouldn't care.

i still love you ecterbob...and would never thumbs you down...have a thumbs up....but i WOULD like to debate how 1000 prayers helps more than 1....because to me, any god worth worshiping is powerful enough to hear 1 prayer.

Honey, they don't get away with it....they do get reported but they don't learn! and yes, like I said on your other question, it's wrong to solicit for prayer when you can do it yourself. That indicates a lack of faith to me, that you'd ahve to ask someone. But, oh well. I will pray that the prayer requests stop....

...so does that make this question a prayer request? tee hee.

Sorry buddy, Asking for prayer is indeed a question.
God listens to me loud and clear. Although I myself may not know the person I am praying for, God certainly does.

Oh........and I don't have a "cartoon" avatar, I have my picture, Do I qualify now??

God bless you ;0)

Maybe they figure some on YA are in a walk closer
with God than the person that asked the question, so
they asked for help in their ferverent prayer for their
loved one. Makes sense. So, no I won't be one of them
that will ask for an end to prayer requests. Why don't you
just move on to another category on YA?

People come here and need encouragement and are sucidal so it goes beyond material.

Edit:Our Bible says that a friend will stick closer than a brother. Which is so true in my circle of friends. It must be nice to have a great support from Family members- but not all of us have that and we believe God surrounds us with those that will -stick close like a family should be....

Yeah, I've got to agree. Even though it is certain that prayer requests don't do any harm, Y!A forbids a lot of things that do no actual harm to the community, under the assertion that it doesn't actually add anything. And that is the key. Prayer requests are not actual questions...they are basically just a sob story followed by a demand. If I wanted that, I would get a Chick tract. But this is a questions and answers site, not a site for chatting with your religious buddies, not a site for pleading others to help you in completely ineffectual ways...

Could you please explain to me how " Will you pray for me?" is NOT a question ? It certainly has an answer. Thus, how do you come to the conclusion that a prayer request is NOT a question?

Jeff, please try to look at it from the viewpoint of the people asking for prayer. It makes them feel better to know that they are being remembered, and most theists believe in the power of prayer. I don't want to get into a debate about "why are 100 prayers better than 1" but most of these people are really hurting. I'd be annoyed at somebody who said "please pray we'll get snow at Christmas" but I can't laugh at someone who is in pain.

And, you don't have to know someone to care about them. As always, blessings and peace to you.

Edit--Alright, dear, we shall plan to discuss prayer sometime. And thanks for the thumbs up.

Edit--I do see your point about the double standard.

awe there really is no harm done
if people feel the need to share a problem and feel people are wishing them well ( or prayers ) ... then just let them be
pass by the question

you old scrooge you :oP

edit
I know how you feel with the accounts Jeff
this is my third .. with one hiding that I darent use
and I know you wouldnt report .... but I dont see the harm in prayer requests
we may be the people a person has in times of need

So is it prayer that bothers you? Or just the way in which they are asked?

What if i Said

"Hey what is the best way to pray for my sister who is dying?"
I really want to know the best way...
That is not wrong is it?

Just wondering

because behind those cartoon heads are real human hearts that have a link of love to the LORD.

your biggest mistake is to say that He doesn't hear. He hears all things, especially the mockings that you hurl at His ears.
