As you have to wish it, it is not a measure of inertia it is an actionable response. Yes, we are reactionary to our perceptions of the world, the morality and other factors but I think ultimately what you think, want and do after all is considered that is your will. It is not predetermined so we cannot guarantee that in such conditions one will act this way or think this way, it is always the individual's choice in the end (where free will is allowed of course). So I think there is true free will.

No, we don't have free will. Not technically anyway. Every event is necessitated by previous events.
It's like flipping a coin. The result is based on the weight of the coin, the force and angle of the flip, the wind speed and direction, the distance the coin is allowed to fall, and a whole lot of other factors along those lines. If you have values for all those factors, you can mathematically predict the result of the coin flip with perfect accuracy. But since it would be impossible to measure all those factors perfectly, we consider the coin flip to be random.
Thoughts are even more complicated than coin flips. They're based on the action potentials of neurons, which we can't even see let alone predict. So to us it appears as though we have free will. But in reality every thought is necessitated by previous events, just like with the coin.

You seem confused. If you think there is a God Delusion, then why ask the question. Morality is not needed in a society without God. With that in mind, anybody can do whatever they want. It is only fear of what other humans will do in return that holds you back. Psychology is a modern science. Like all modern science, alchemy comes to mind in the middle ages, it will be proved wrong.

We do have free will although we choose to love ina a society where htere are rules and all this other crap but if we could choose we could live in a place where htere is no type of society and we can be as free as to do whatever the hell we want. Some of us choose to do that while others live in pieces of land that these rules do exist. We can choose to move on out of here nad find a place of truly free will but we don't so i would say that we do have free will. Sorry a little confusing huh

Yes we do have Free Will until our last breath. The minute we die our record of deeds is frozen. We will be presented to God after our resurrection with the record of deeds.
Then we will find that we have no Free Will at all. We will be on the mercy of God. If we did repent to God for our sins in this life, may be God will have mercy on us. But no mercy if we never repent for our sinners to Him and instead denied His existance all together or we worshipped those whom God created but not God Himself. Tough luck that day.

Since the fall of Adam and Eve, Original Sin has left every descendant with a tendency to do evil, not good. You have a free will to choose the degree to which you will sin.

I had an answer but I am being forced to say no. Obviously we have free will, we just don't want the responsibility that goes with it, so we blame others including God for the bad things that happen to us in life. Wierd.
What a minute, are you asking this question of your own free will or is someone holding a gun to your head? Type HELP if you are being forced, I will send help.

you have free will only if the following conditions are true;
1 you believe you have free will.
2 you act on your belief.
3 you maintain this self awareness, in every moment.
the second you get distracted, you will fall back on habits and social conditioning, and return to being a robot, like everyone else.

We have free will because we ultimately choose.
But beyond that, we are more restrained than we pretend to be. We are byproducts of our culture. It dictates what we see is wrong and right - what we can and cannot do.
I couldn't eat a tarantula if my life depended on it! But other cultures have no problems eating them along with maggots! It's actually a delicacy for some. It similar how Indians cannot eat beef. They been mentally conditioned to find beef repulsive. However, Americans can eat it without a guilty conscious!
It's not genes but how we are taught/scolded since we are kids.

I see this is the new attack on Christianity. Every human being makes their own decisions regardless of influences. I could be influenced into being an alcoholic by my dad and my friends but, ultimately it is my decision to say yes or no to a drink. WE DO HAVE FREE WILL!
