Cleverest is not a word. I would go with what the first person said, "Existence is for the clever."

gramatically it would be "existence is for the clever."
but since I don't know the context it seems very odd. To go deeper, if you are clever then you must exist. If in reference to maybe someone pondering ending their life, i would use completely different word choices. Ending your life does not ever seem clever. And, merely existing doesn't qualify you as clever. You merely exist.
