never put any type of ammo in your gun that it wan`t intended to use this could cause injury to your gun but could cause serious or fatal injuries to you.

No, you can't do it safely. There are not any long guns made by any major manufacturers to use both. The .45 bullet is larger in diameter than the .410 shot colum+wad. The need to squeeze the .452 inch diameter bullet down for it to exit the barrel requires a lot more pressure than your barrel can deliver without having a catastrophic failure. The Taurus Judge and a few derringers are all that I know of which can handle both rounds.

There are a few handguns that are designed to fire the .410 shotshell in a .45colt chamber. The head/rim size is the same, but as DJ stated .41cal is considerably smaller than the .457cal of the .45colt. If you try to squeeze the larger projectile down the smaller bore chamber pressure will rise to very dangerouse levels. DON'T DO IT!

This depends upon the gun. For example, the tc encore pistol barrel is designed and sold as both a 45 and a 410. However, the choke tube must be taken out before firing.

NO...UNDER NO Circumstances should you even attempt it let alone think about it. There are firearms currently being manufactured that will allow you to shoot 45 Long Colt ammunition out of specially designed 410 shotguns and they are specially DESIGNED to do so....But NOT 45 ACP......You could get seriously hurt or killed if attempted.

NEVER attempt to shoot ammunition out of any firearm unless you know for certain that that particular firearm was "designed" to fire the cartridges in question!

NO!

.410 does not equal .45. Do the math!

(There are some .41 Long Colt caliber revolvers that will chamber and fire .410 shotshells.....but not the other way around. .41 Long Colt, not .45 Colt or .45acp)
