If the person was a social black-n-mild (cigar) smoker who smoked from age 17 til 24? She only smoked when she was driving or socially drinking, let's just say 1 a day; maybe 3 or 4 on the week-end.

7 years. it is a well known medical fact that the rejuvenation of cells happen everyday. so hypothetically speaking, at the rate of rejuvenation of cells, you get a new set of organs every 7 years. so hypothetically speaking, you get a new heart, liver, pair of lungs every 7 years. so if you smoked a cigarette today, it would take approx. 7 years , give or take a week or 2, before every trace of tar and toxic out of your system.

it takes many years. there are some statistics on it but i'm not sure of the specifics myself. she didn't smoke too much per day but still it's over several years and will take several years to completely leave the system.

your body for sure has damage, but it you have quit, it will take about 2 months, for the inside tissues to rejuvinate and remove all the damaged cells...
