Is it because of John 2:4: Jesus says to her, What have I to do with thee, woman? mine hour has not yet come.

Seems to me that ain't no way to treat a lady.

Actually I think Mary gave the best advise in the whole Bible:
"His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." "

John 2:5

You know it always amazes me of how much Atheist know about the Text of the Bible. But have no idea of the Context of the Bible and the feeble attempts to try to Trivialize the Scriptures, I don't know if I should laugh or cry, it is soo sad at the Pathetic attempts of Atheist who even try.

A Non-Believer can know and even perhaps Memorize the Text of the Bible by will not be able to understand it, It is impossible for them to , they do not have the ability to comprehend it, it is beyond their mental capacity to. The Bible clearly states that in 1st Cor 2:14.

Now , for the Correct Context of John 2:4

Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? Jesus refers to His mother with a term of respect, but He does not call her "mother." Jesus wanted to emphasize that there was a different relationship with her now.

Read the rest of the Passage and the Beginning.
Not that it will do any good, as it is obvious that you have hardened your heart and mind and set yourself against it already, but, who kows, you might just wake up someday.

The book of Luke said Mary was "blessed among all women" and "blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus". God picked her out of all women, there was something special about her. I'm a Christian and I have never put down Mary. You can't disrespect the mother of the God you're supposed to worship.

Do they really put her down or is that just the view of those who want to place her in a position that is improper?

Is it really a put-down when another does express his own accepted position or view?

I see that there are two sides to a coin and there is also the edge that must be considered that is neither side.
