Two weeks ago my little brother borrowed $50 from my husband for the night when we went out together and my brother forgot his wallet at home. We have talked to him since but he has never brought up the fact that he owes us money. How do I ask him for it back without seeming money hungry?
I know he has the money, so the issue is not that he doesn't have it.

The way you ask isn't going to make you sound money hungry it is going to be the tone in which you ask. Just politely ask him if he has that $50 you loaned him a few weeks back. Just do it in a nonchalant way, and next time maybe be more hesitatnt about loaning him $$$.Good Luck:)

What's the big deal about asking him? He's 18, not much more than a child, and may still be used to the grownups doing things for him. You may have to bring it up. "Remember the $50 you borrowed? Can we have it now? We could use it." If he takes it wrong, remind him that at 18 he's an adult and you want to treat him like one, and you would expect the same of any friend. It's a good idea to get in the habit of paying back what you borrowed. If he gets really mad, then he is showing poor character and I wouldn't worry about his feelings anymore.

Tell him to give you back the money or you will never let him borrow money from u ever again. You need to realise that u r his older sis and he needs to respect u.

Excuse me...money hungry? Since you don't bring it up, I'm sure he's assuming that you can afford it and don't care. If you can't afford it, I can only believe that you're not telling him out of pride. Ask him already and if he won't make good, next time, tell him the bank is closed...permanently.

Give him the benefit of the doubt that he forgot and just casually bring it up with him. Its only $50, and its not that hard to come up with the money to pay it back.

come one, grow up, you aren't the one that is 18 anymore, just tell him you would like to have the fifty dollars back. Next time, do not loan money to family, give it to them, but don't loan it.....causes too many problems otherwise.

How do you know he has the money?
And actually asking him straight upfront and don't threaten or do it on the phone etc.
