Yeah, I converted to Judaism, at first mainly just to tick off the Christians, but now I am very serious about it. It's just that every time I a buy a newspaper, there are supermarket ads in there, and I see that Basha's has a sale on ham. I mean, it's on sale, .....but it's ham. But,....it's on sale. ....but it's ham. It's not just that dilemna, but, what am I supposed to say whenever someone tells me us Jews sunk the Titanic? I tell them it wasn't a Goldberg, it was an Iceberg. Why won't they listen to me?

Not clear on your dilemma.

Are you struggling with dietary ordinances or racism?

You have aligned yourself with a belief system that has a strong adherence to law and tradition. Sorry, pork is off limits. Oh, and no rabbit either (see that's not so hard!!)

As far as racism, they are idiots. One could better argue arrogance sunk the Titanic. I'd say, "Does the name Edward John Smith sound Jewish to you?" (FYI he was the captain).

Or the lookout "Frederick Fleet"

or the Chairman "Bruce Ismay"

You can teach ignorance... can't fix stupid

Well mate, I have some Jewish friends, and they eat ham. The way they view it, the proscription against pork was an instruction from the past, having no relevance today.

As far as the Titanic, I can't think of a better response than the one you have, lol!

Happy Hanukkah, 8 Track!

This is off the subject - I really have heard Irish Catholics say that Protestants were responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. After all, it was built in Belfast.

ROFL...go eat a kosher BLT and forget about the Titanic...the Goldbergs weren't anywhere near it...they were too busy selling military secrets to the Russians...

I'd say buy the ham, mark it up to original price, and resell. No point in not taking advantage of the sale.

If you work on getting better, you learn Torah, and use your time to do good things, slowly and maturely you will forget about ham.
That other thing is just a joke. don't pay attention to it.
btw, this not the right place to ask questions like these. you will not get correct answers and people will tell you the wrong thing to do. go on askmoses.com. you can talk anonymously to a chabad rabbi.

Buy the ham and make me a sandwich. You will feel much better about all of this.
The Titanic thing is trickier....

There aint nothing wrong with Judaism, but from previous questions I asked, I was told that if ones prayers are not in Hebrew God would not hear you. Your prayers would be invalid, so good luck with the learning hebrew thing.
