Trust me....you'll want to....

No. Everybody will not be going to heaven. The above said confession can be both ways. A non-believer shall confess it on the judgment day that Jesus is the judge and the king. Every out-law shall bow to the law when he is caught and brought to the law and punished. That is not salvation.

It's free will if you already wanted to bow your knee and confess with your tongue. So Christians can just choose to be ready to do that so when the time comes they can claim it as free will.

It's kinda like "You can't fire me, I was gonna quit anyways". There, I left my job on my own free will.

Well, assuming this is during the Second Coming... all of the world is gonna see it. Suppose for argument's sake you saw this... God made his presence known not just to you, but to everyone, all at the same time. You knew who he was. There is no doubt what's happening....

What would you do? What would you WANT to do?

Me, personally, I'd probably poop my pants, then get on my knees and confess him as God....

okay... all this is scriptural (not the pooping my pants part). I can NOT in good conscience come to you and tell you with certainty this is how its going to happen. It could..... but I don't know for sure.

Okay, I think my point is this, there will come a time when everyone will acknowledge God of there own free will. How, when or why, I have no clue..... At least, this is what that passage is saying to me.

I also happen to believe it. But a lot of people don't, and that's completely cool with me.

peace regards respects

edit.... thumbs down for the liberal Christian? God bless ya, ya thumb-downers

It is my opinion that this is the reason why God seems 'shy' to many. In other words --- this is why people think that God never shows Himself. When a person sees the glorified risen Lord Jesus Christ, they *don't* have a choice at that point. They *will* bow. Heck, in the Bible, people even try to bow to angels (and the angels are always like, um, homie, get up, I am not God, don't worship me). That's why God doesn't reveal Himself that way right now, because He wants you to *choose* Him --- not to be forced because your frail human flesh can't help but not to because He is appearing to you.

When the time comes for that, there won't be choice left. Time is up, whatever decision you made is made. But the people left who decided against Him will still bow, because human flesh can't help but to bow when it sees God.

At that point, God's final judgment of individuals and the nations will have already taken place. People will have chosen for Christ or rejected Him and will have been judged accordingly. But no matter how they have chosen, they will have to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord.

The concept of "free will" applies to actions that took place in a person's lifetime. Since those earthly lives are over, free will no longer applies. You have either decided to serve God or reject Him, and your eternal destiny has been established one way or the other.

But in any case, God is still God, and you will have to acknowledge that fact.

The free will remains because if God reveals himself as he will on the last judgment, all people will have to acknowledge the truth of God's omnipotent glory. We will see it. But we may or may not like it. It will be as necessary to confess as it is to breathe. We may or may not choose to be with Him forever in Heaven, however.

Beta Fishy is correct. At the time this prophecy comes true, it will be overwhelmingly obvious that Jesus is the Messiah and that He is God.

Be objective and think about it for a moment, Bettie: IF you were given the visual proof that God exists (which is what you and all other atheists ask for), what would your reaction really be? IF God is as awesome as Jews and Christians believe He is, wouldn't you be completely speechless and in awe? (Right now, all I can think of is the movie 'Dogma' and how Jay reacted after "God" beeped his nose. I don't think his reaction was unrealistic ...)

It's a prediction, not a promise. It's like Led Zepplin issuing a press release that "every fan will rock, every panty will be thrown"

What you quote occurs at the judgment seat of God. The time of choice and 'free will' as you call it will have past. It will be eternally to late to change anything. That's why I would encourage you to exercise your free will and read 2 Cor. 6:1-2. God Bless

Get to bowing, get that tongue to doing some confessing. It's all about my gratification. j/k :)
