Plates In Oven

2016-12-18 05:13:37 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

I often use dinner plates at over 220 degrees Celsius with no problems.
However when i tried to wash my socks in the oven, I burned my house down.
That's about the same time my wife left me. I believe that's what lead to the alcohol problems which i later had to fund through prostitution.
So in short don't put anything in you're oven or else you'll end up sucking a midgets dick for beer-money.

ONLY!!!!! If the plate says ovensafe - then yes, you can put it in the oven. If it doesn't - do not put in oven - even if it is glass or ceramic.

Ovensafe means that they have used a technique that gets as many air bubbles out of the glass or ceramic as possible. The others have not. The oven heats the air in the air bubble and the air expands. When it expands enough - the plate will crack (or in worst cases - explode).

Yes, I can because my dishes are Oven Proof Hulls...

If it is oven ware it should say on the bottom of the plate.

ya mean to keep it warm? Should be. Some plates are tempered and can handle it.
NEVER use plastic...oh lord what are people thinking?
Now if ya have those 'new' silicon cooking thingies...LOL I can't bring myself to use them...then go ahead...but never plastic.
Ex one time tried to reheat his pizza in the oven in the same box it came in....yeah well now ya see why he is an 'ex'.

I buy extra disposable pie tins, and pop meals on those, and cover with foil, if I want to be able to reheat in an oven.

You really shouldn't because if you like the plate it will start to crack and then you can't use it. It would be better to go to walmart and get a baking dish

If it is heavy pottery and most likely oven safe then I would say fine but if it is lighter weight, I wouldnt take a chance on it cracking from the heat. Granted this is a very low heat but better safe than sorry.

Depending on the plate and what it is made up of. Also depends on how long you leave it in there. Some microwaves are just as hot, but safer.
