If you must follow Christianity then why not adhere to its doctrine? I have read many answers on YA from 'some' Christians who show a definite lack of spiritual generosity. They disrespect other faiths and blatantly insult those who do not share their beliefs. Yet, they blindly promote their 'Christianity'. Is this OK by you?

I need to make myself clear. I referred to 'some' Christians, not all. Could 'some' idiots please try to concentrate on the question long enough to understand that I am not generalizing.

i think it is fine to promote christianity in a way where you are not forcing it on someone who has no instrest whatsoever or people who already have a faith.
As a christian i was brought up in the christian way which is to respect eachother's beliefs, because that is what i would like in return from them.

Christianity covers many religions. The Catholics, the Baptists, the Southern Baptists, and many more. All are different and that's where the doctrines come in. For instances, by Catholic doctrine, it is a sin to have premarital sex and they also do not believe in birth control. The Baptists are not as strict.

I had a strict Southern Baptist upbringing, but now I consider myself just a Christian with not sub religion. I do not attend church and I don't pray on a daily basis. I do not think that I am above anyone.

In fact, I find that every religion even the Wicca, is interrelated and all believe in the same basic principle.

Those who only promote their religion are "correct" are ignorant. We must embrace the differences of others and accept that may or may not worship the same as you do.

I believe in God and that Jesus is Christ's son. If you believe in Allah and the Prophet Mohammad, or the Goddess, or that Jesus is not the Messiah, then you have every right to do so and I respect that.

Some do, some don't. Another generalising question, not all Christians are 'the same' and not all people who claim to be 'Christian' are actually a real followers of Jesus. People can also interpret the Bible in different ways.

Unfortunately a lot of non-Christians miss the point completely. We are human and therefore not perfect. People will always sometimes make mistakes no matter what they believe

EDIT: and your ACTUAL question does NOT state 'some' does it - just in the contents

Maybe some Christians have had bad teaching or bad examples set to them. The actual point of being a Christian is to be forgiven in a personal way, then to show the love of God to the world. Many have a lot of wrinkles in their characters to be ironed out, and if God changed us totally overnight, it would be overwhelming. He is a gentle God, only changing people who invite Him to, and then He does it slowly. Also we are able to resist and ignore, so that's why we are all different.

Some of us follow the doctrine of an eye for an eye and not turn the other cheek...my spiritual generosity runs out the moment I find offense to the lack of intelligence the "humanists" display...regardless of age, gender, color, or education...I'm an equal opportunity slammer...otherwise for those truly in need I would and have given the shirt off my back to those with genuine need...

Mathew 6:19 - 21 The Biblical Jesus is supposed to have said...

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Q. How many Christians do you think, during Christmas when they give each other expensive stuff they do not really need, take notice of the above WORD of their Lord & Saviour???

A. Not Many.

I think Christians have become more tolerant to other faiths than they did in the past, yet some faiths still want to kill non believers and people who mock their faith.
I don't see Christians shouting for the death penalty for the south park writers when they mock Jesus and god in episodes of South Park.
Or do you want us to go back to the roman times when Christians sat themselves in circles and allowed Lions to eat them without complaint.

No one is perfect. Some Christians are still babes in the Lord. Some Christains have been Christians a long time and are still stubborn. We are learning and we have to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless we are still saved and will go to heaven.

I wanted to rate chris twice but i dont think u can.. oh well. Christians are not meant to share others beliefs. God/jesus is the way truth and life, so we believe in our faith. Other faiths do not believe in ours - so why pick just christians. Christians are meant to share their beliefs with others. But they are only human - not perfect. Research liberal christians/ another type ive forgotten the name of. It shows you the different views on christianity. Btw im a christian.

well, not all christians are like this. I'm not christian myself but I used to be.
I think too many people get caught up in the dogma of religion and forget what it's true purpose is. People also only take bits and pieces of religion and make it work to suit their needs so many of the basics get lost.
