It's effective, but it isn't permanent. It can severely retard the growth for a time, but it will eventually grow back in.

I agree with Don.
When getting laser hair removal, you have to keep some things in mind.
1. Doing your research and finding a good hair removal laser clinic around your area.
2. ask a lot of questions when you are with the Dermatologists .
3. Maybe you are getting hair removed from your face, take into consideration the amount of hair you have on your face, the thickness of the hair, the colour of the hair, the colour of your skin, the condition of your skin(sensitive, oily).
4. The treatment is applied about 5 to 6 time depending on your hair could be more.

Check out this site http://www.hairremovaljournal.org/docq.htm for further information.

Hope this helps you.

Lasers are excellent for Hair Removal. And If the Tec is very good.Scaring can Easily be avoided
The tiny Burn marks can be removed over time by Exfoliating or Microdermabraisian (Sodium Bicarbonate) Only Ever.
* Hair color and skin Color do come into play
A laser is a Light..If the hair is too Light or the skin is too dark
Too much or not enough of light absorption can happen.
Make sure Your tec Has alot of experience. Don

With successive laser treatments hair becomes finer and finer. You may achieve 60-90% permanent hair reduction with laser. Treatment may vary for hormonal disturbances. In this treatment, Laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in hair, which converts it into heat and destroys hair in the growing phase of the hair cycle. Unskilled hands may cause skin damage so you should visit only reputed ones like Reva Aesthetics which have good doctors and modern techniques so there is no risk of damage or injuries.

It is effective, it was my impression it is permanent although I could be wrong. IPL is not laser, I'm not sure what other forms of "laser" hair removal they do. I don't know if they really do electrolysis anymore, but I'm pretty sure that is permanent.

For the lasers and IPL though, they only target hair follicles in the anagen growth phase, so hair that is not actively growing will not be "zapped". This is why multiple treatments over a period of time is necessary.

I did it maybe 9 years ago and it helped alittle. yes my hair on my arms and underarms did grow back but not as much as before. I had 3 treatments I think, BUT it was 9 years ago so Im sure it has advanced. The person that was lasering my arms used the wrong kind of marking tool when making a grid on my skin and it resulted in grid scabs on my arm, they went away thankfully! I also noticed that when I had my period it hurt more.

Hi, I've been using laser hair removal for years. I do find it to be quite costly though, and it does come back over time. Do some research of the various kinds of hair removal and experiment, it's about the only way to find out.

Unless your daughter has a hormonal issue, such as PCOS, she probably does not have a serious hair problem. If she has an issue where her hair is excessive and even masculine, then it might make her feel better about herself to have her underarms and bikini area (not Brazilian) done. If she does not have excessive hair but just wants the convenience of permanent hair removal, I would suggest she pay for it on her own.
