We have lots of people coming from out of town, and being in L.A., traffic and driving can get a bit complicated. I want to include the directions to the church, and from the church to the reception restaurant. What is the best way to do that?

Did you use mapquest and then copy & paste? Or did you use some other type of map program?

The place I got married had in their packet maps from different ways people might come into town. So I just copied those and added them to the invites.

Print a map and directions on a separate piece of paper and insert it in the envelope with the invitation.

I did all of mine on an art program. I took a central point (one that is well known) and used Randmcnally.com to get mileage from there.
I also put the address to both the church and the reception venue in addition to written directions.

Have the map printed on some nice card stock that matches the invitation. And insert it next to the RSVP card. Congrats.

I typed mine up and put it as an insert to the invitation. I did nice quality paper, not card stock, because the invitation was quite thick already and I wanted to make the directions detailed.
Recommend driving them yourself, so that you can provide landmarks (i.e., make a right on Main, you will pass Starbucks on your left)

I would write it down. But dont just go by what Map-quest says, get out there and drive it yourself to be sure the directions are as detailed as possible.

I can make you a map if you'd like. I have experience making custom maps for invitations. I get bored at work so honestly I could do it for you for free because I need something to do while I am sitting here. Please let me know if you'd like this. I make beautiful maps! I wish I could show you a sample but my computer is at home. You can email me at sarrahtoast@hotmail.com

We drove our route, using the trip odometer to calculate distances, etc.
We wrote the routes out step-by step and printed them on a nice paper stock and included them with the wedding invites.
