Evangeline Pascual should be the official Miss World 1973 because it was her right to take over the crown but the organization did not used the rule which states if the winner can't fulfill her duties the first runner-up will take over her place.Unlike the following year the title was offered to the first runner-up who was Anneline Kriel of South Africa after revealing that the reigning Miss World was an unwed mother who was Helen Morgan of United Kingdom. If the title was offered, the Philippines would be the first Asian country to win the two major titles in the same year and not India
