Does anybody else think this is obnoxious? I've had a whole bunch of people tell me how the third movie is going to end without warning me beforehand that they were telling me the ending. I didn't see this happen from people who opposed other films with a religious subtext like "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."
Doesn't this seem inappropriate to anybody else?
Do people not realize that by telling others the end they're depriving them of the intended surprise?
Or do they not care because they that those of us who watch it are evil atheists who don't deserve the joy of watching a movie that agrees with our beliefs without knowing the ending?
The reason I ask this on R&S is because The Golden Compass is frequently discussed here.

I know the ending isn't exactly the ending of the story, but they reveal which character dies. They assign the wrong "level of divinity" to that character, but its pretty easy to figure out who it is within the context of the story.

NEO Pirate: I'm not saying Christians shouldn't discuss the movie, or even reveal its ending. I'm saying that when they do reveal the ending, they should at least warn people. There are plenty of people on this board who plan to see the movie, and they don't want to know the ending beforehand.
All I'm asking for is a little courtesy.

I have not seen it yet but I do have to agree it is wrong for someone to tell the end of a story before another has gotten a chance to see it. When it comes to someone just wanting to "bash" it because it goes against thier particular view on a denomiation or a religion, even worse. Too many out there do not want to be able to just enjoy imagination without having something to say because they did not think of it first. Pretty selfish and pridefull if you ask me. In the Nmae Of Jesus, just shut up and enjoy the movie!
God Bless!

I agree, lots of fans that like surprises just got Smackdown ruined for them. Not everybody cares for spoilers, some people actually like watching the shows and enjoying them. I bet somebody will now say that SD was predictable even though it's their own fault they read the spoiler. You want to post a spoiler, post it like this: *SPOILER ALERT* Smackdown spoiler inside. Then post the spoiler inside the extra details for the question, not everybody wants to know. WS 101 WQ: Wrestlemania was ok, I liked like half of it.

I also think, let alone from spoilers, that boycotting movies is seriously stupid. WHO CARES if the movie's ending or moral is about "religion." Even if the movie is spoiled, believing what you hear to be true should be doubted until you get the idea from it yourself. such as, it's going to snow tomorrow. you won't know if thats true or not until tomorrow happens! plus., who believes weather men anymore

How does it matter? The ending they're giving is completely off the mark of the actual ending.

All spoilers are rude, regardless of the movie and intention of discussion.

Christians love other Christians, so warning each other is a form of protection for them. Why would you find this behavior obnoxious?
