Others have touched on distinctive the advatages, yet look to lacking the significant emissions reducing reason is the effeciency of the skill generating stations and regenerative breaking. even if if each and each of the skill is generated by ability of oil and coal, skill flora are about two times as powerful at replacing the gas into skill as inner combustion vehichles even after bearing in concepts losses in transmission and a automobile's electric powered motor. So, it takes a lot less gas to bypass a similar distance. also, as time is going you may replace the skill flora to different approaches with no need to at least some thing to the electric powered automobile. Now upload in regenerative breaking which captures distinctive the skill in vehicles action for the period of breaking. In an inner combustion engine each and each of the skill placed into accerating a automobile as a lot as speed is lost once you position on the breaks and end. With nicely designed hybrids and electrics most of the breaking skill is used to recharge the batteries. this is the reason you'll discover a Prius getting better efficient milage utilizing round city in end and bypass site visitors than it does utilizing down the throughway.

The Renault Scénic.

I own one and it really does make you see how unnecessary the a Range Rover is for the "school run".

I'd say you sit just as high as say a Landrover Freelander and feel just as safe. They're packed with really clever features and I can tell you for a fact, you're safer in a crash in one of these than in most jeeps.

As for being clean, Renault have really been focusing in on this issue recently and launched a new "Eco-2" engine in the Scénic range. It is a 1.5 diesel engine with 106 BHP. It does a huge 54.3 MPG and emits only 138 g/km of CO2, which is lower than some engines in the firms Clio range!

This really is a fantastic car, and you won't get a much "greener" one at this size. Also remember there is the Grand Scénic which features 7 seats.

Hope this helped.

as the "carbon footprint" nonsense includes what it takes to make ,run and how long it lasts before worn out, get a REAL Jeep preferably a Wrangler. It will last at least 3 times as long as a "modern" car. There`s less "exotic" materials used to make them. Just try recycling your Hybrid and see just how difficult it is to dispose of the batteries etc

I am assuming you are in the UK, as your question is in that section of the site.

Suzuki are bringing out a new model called the Splash. It is a small car, but I believe the front seats will be raised to give a good view of the road ahead.

Comes with either a 1.2 petrol or 1.3 diesel engine. I'd go for diesel.

See link below for details.
