Yahoo is not using common sense on this one, unless those in charge enjoy the bashing of people with religious and spiritual orientations.

Atheists should be kept out of this one but allowed to express their anti-spiritual views in the Philosophy section where that viewpoint is appropriate. It's not appropriate here. Have a blessed day.

I have to agree...if atheists don't believe in spirituality, why are they in the spirituality section? It would be just to harass those who are spiritual.

definite, this is a shallow and stupid question. As an open communicate board, what one in my opinion believes isn't a valid reason for expulsion. Many are atheists with the aid of lies taught them by ability of religion and they got here across it out. also, there are some distance better hateful and cruel so-observed as christians on R&S than there are atheists. So do not leave atheists, you may ask some deep questions and that i promise you maximum of what you study about faith has no longer some thing to do with the Bible. i might want to somewhat communicate over with a rational atheist than an smug and ignorant individual calling themselves christian any day.

Maybe we need somebody who is anti-science and math in that section. If someone wants to point out the weakness in particular spiritual or religious points by presenting something better, that makes sense. But to just keep saying I think this whole area should not exist, is not very respectful to the field. It is not an accident, that an awful lot of sane and productive people are spiritual and/or religious. Atheists have dominated countries, like the former Soviet Union and Communist China, who have been in wars also. So the argument that morality would be better with more of them, is weaker than their argument that God does not exist.

This could be the only place atheist and anti-religion people will ever hear anything from a Christianity viewpoint. They may ridicule the answer but at least they read it. This may be the only place that these people every hear anything from the Word of God. They have a right to answer what ever question they would like just like people of Faith do.

Because Yahoo unlike you realizes that R&S is not only religion but religion AND spirituality, isn't not being religious and spiritualism a religion all of it's own, the question that should be asked is why is this R7S section only about Christians

Because the USA is a democracy, and the First Amendment gives us all freedom of speech and of religion. You cannot be a dictator, since George Washington defeated such people as you who would force their beliefs upon a whole nation long ago. "Common sense" is an oxymoron, for good sense is not common at all. You are talking about some common nonsense. Your accusations are untrue and illogical.

atheist means we dont believe in a GOD

it doesnt mean we are spiritual in some form.

Plus, alot of us have studied various religions, theologies etc, thus have education backing up discussions, and since there isnt a theology section, religion is the best some of us have.

Others, are EX and have knowledge of the religions being discussed

this questions asked a thousand times a day, its a little old

Hi,

You do this sort of thing for one section like R&S they will do it for every section and ultimately you will be very limited as to where you can speak and what you can say. To this point I have never heard atheists ask that Christians be banned from Gay anD Lesbian through to biological sciences where many have opposing views from homosexuality to evolution.

Atheism is an opinion on religion. Why are you targeting a specific group? Christians have been known to be just as rude and disrespectful. If the problem is you don't like to be confronted with opinions that don't fit with your world-view, I can't muster much sympathy for that. What makes you think their beliefs are automatically invalid?

I actually enjoy the debates and conversations I have with atheist here on R&S. Besides, if we ban them, how can we share our beliefs and gain a deeper understanding of one another. I speak to Christians all day, every day. I come here to get differing thoughts and opinions and to learn how I can better witness to those that don't believe. (Which, from what I have gathered, is by example and action not by words.)

I am a firm believer in freedom. I am a firm believer that God wants us to believe in freedom.

With that said, I see the athiests and non-believers here and can't help but wonder the same thing. But, I just have to smile because God lead them here. I remeber the questions I had in my mind when I was younger that lead me to my religious beliefs. The only answer I can think of as to why they are here is because they are seeking answers themselves.
