My Dad died 7 years ago. Often when I dream, I see a car pull up and he is inside. It reminds me when he used to pick me up in his car when I was a child. The cars are always different. None of the ones he drove. I look at him, then remember that he is dead and no longer with me. I say "Hi". I either go into another dream or wake up for work.
Is his soul trying to reach me?
Is he telling me it is time to join him soon?

This was a comforting site for you when you were young, seeing him pull up, so it makes sense you would dream about it. The reason he is in different cars is because you know he is in a place that you do not recognize. It is the familiar, in the unfamiliar. Notice you never get in the car with him?
This does not mean you are about to die. Don't worry.

It seems like it's just a dream of your own wants. You want so much for him to be back in you life but in your heart you know he's gone and don't want the pain of how much you miss him that's why you continue with another dream or wake up. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Often God shows up in our dreams as "Father". There are other clues in dreams to let you know if that is who your "father" represents, or if he represents an authority or a leader of some kind in your life.
So .... this dream could be saying that God is preparing to take you on into your spiritual destiny.
I do not think it has anything to do with you dying at all.

He's telling you, "hi!" and letting you know he can still see you and remembers your favorite memory, too. He loves you enough to let you know he's still around. It's a visit.
If you were joining him soon, he'd beckon for you to come along. But he didn't so, I don't think that's the purpose of the dream.

I think he is letting you know that he is with you even now. It sounds like he is watching over you. Rest easy. I don't think he wants you to come with him.
