I got more spankings from mom but the ones from dad were worse.
When we were little, both of them spanked my sister,my bro and me. But later, dad used to spank me and bro and mom only spanked my sister.

I was lucky to avoid a lot of spankings being that I was the only girl and the last born (I have 3 big brothers). Dad did most of the "structured" spankings in our house (where we would have to line up and come face my dad's leather belt!) while mom would quickly smack the crap out of us when she caught us doing something wrong and then it was over. Dad's spankings were obviously worse (also coz there was a period of anticipation before we actually got the spanking since we could almost always predict that a spanking was coming) but mom's were more frequent.

Yes, my Mom did most of the spanking. If I was really bad then Mom would spank me and tell me that when Dad got home from work I would get another spanking from him. When Dad got home I would get that spanking and it was usually worse. I remember Dad telling me just before the spankings, that this was going to hurt him more than me but I never thought so because I was the one crying not him.

My Dad was gone a lot and wasn't much of a disciplinarian. My Mom was at the least borderline abusive so I'd have to say my Mom. Although the few disciplines I got from my Dad, hurt my feeling much more than anything my Mom ever did.
I can tell you now, as an adult, I don't believe in spanking or hitting and I use other forms of discipline.

My Dad never spanked me. My Mom spanked and beat the crap out of us.
Spankings aren't child abuse, beatings are. There is a difference, as anyone who had actually received both and had a brain would know.

Mom slapped, Dad spanked, usually with the branch off the tree we had to get. Later, he used the belt on us on bare butts. Both my Brother and me, were treated equally, both got spanked or with the belt.

My Mom was more strict and forcefull then my Dad. He was easy going and would talk to us to figure out why we did or didn't do what we were told or told not to do or not do. He would tell me mostly, not the older brothers and sisters...he Tore them Up...but he would tell me nicely that he was disappointed and didn't want to have the talk about what ever it was again or he wouldn't be so nice the next time. But my Mom would get the swearing and yelling and punishing and eventually Beating the "Smoke" out of us, while still yelling at us. She mellowed out as she got older, and I don't regret her doing what she did, the way she did it. It made us all better people for it. God Rest both of their Souls.

I only got spanked once..by my Dad...and sent to my room. When I woke up, there was a soda, and a candy bar on my nighttable because he felt so bad for spanking me.

In my family my mom was the only one that did the spanking, Dad only gave us that 'serious talk' but that scared the hell out of us anyway
