OK- for those who know me- it's the crazy ex-friend.

So long story short- This girl is already married and having a redo which included two showers! She is 6K short of paying her wedding which is less then a month... she hasn't sent out invites so no one knows if the wedding is still on.
Well, her bridesmaid (who is a mutual friend of mine) wanted to get her something nice that she could use. This bride told her to use her home depot registry. The bridesmaid said everything on there was over several 100 dollars... which she isn't spending on a shower. And there are two tubs on there- one is $1,000 and the other is $3,000!!! They only have 1 bathroom and a very small 2 bedroom house!!
Do they honestly think someone is going to buy them a $3,000 tub (and they don't have the money to buy it later with the 10% discount they give you after the wedding)? Plus they have NO room to put it anywhere.
What is the stupid’s or tackiest thing you have seen on a registry!

Oh and the tub is so big- it's actually bigger then their entire bathroom and they are both so far in dept- they can't afford to remodel the house.

And she didn't registry for anything normal like towels or sheets or useful stuff that everyone knows she needs!

Hahahhaa, what a twit! I'd go to the Barbie aisle and see if you can't find a miniature hot tub to buy for her LOL.

Seriously, no one is going to buy her the freaking hot tub. In fact, people are probably having the same reaction you are to the news!

Now, the *second* stupidest thing I"ve seen on a registry (yours takes number one! LOL) was a purebred miniature pincher. As in.....the dog.....She wanted a girl and a boy so she could breed them.

That was just....weird....

This totally takes the cake. I like the answer about the frame instead but would like to add...take a picture of the $3000 tub and put it in the frame!!! LOL

Now for Matt's Mommy...registering for the honeymoon gives soooooooooooo many different options for those that don't have much money or just aren't sure what to get. It's also better than a gift card (don't get me wrong gift cards are also good) but with putting in towards the honeymoon at least you know exactly what the "money" will be used for. Also good for the couple that's been living together for a while and are on their second marriage where they may not really need anything other than the honeymoon. Of course this would also be if the couple wasn't taking advantage of the whole honeymoon "gift" by going more all out then necessary.

Like any of us who have followed the crazy friend have needed even more proof that this chick is completely delusional....once more, she provides it!!!

Bubs, you know no one, and I mean no one, is going to shell out $3K for a bathtub so this crazed chick can remodel her bathroom. She's one of those fools who buy the tub, then upon delivery realize it won't fit in the space. Believe it or not, she's not the only one. My hubby (who works in construction) sees it every day. He calls it massive delusions of grandeur.

And, the tackiest thing I saw on a registry was the KY jelly. What was even tackier--someone had bought it!!! I also saw a bride register for lingerie--at WalMart!!!

PLEASE keep us posted with this crazy chicks doings!!!! They seriously make my day every time!

Wow! That is really funny. I have seen strange things on registries before but two tubs is insane! One tub is odd in and of itself. Also, what is a redo wedding? It is tacky to register for a redo wedding no matter what you are registering for! And if you can't afford to have a wedding you shouldn't be planning a wedding and having showers...it just makes no sense! I have heard of people having registries and getting big ticket items to sell. Maybe they are being SUPER TACKY and planning to sell their gifts because they are broke.

I've seen a $3000 plasma TV and Star Trek DVDs in the same registry!

The tackiest thing I've ever seen would actually be an entire registry. Not just one particular item.

It was fifty two pages long.

Fifty-two pages.

I'm not kidding. It took a half hour to print. And as I was looking through it, I realized what she did -- not that it was hard to figure out. She registered for practically EVERYTHING in the store, with obvious plans to return most of it....She registered for five different sets of everyday dishes (service for twenty), three fine dining sets, at least seven different bedspreads/comforters...you get the idea.

Oh, and to ice this little cupcake? She registered at THREE other stores.

That's hilarious. What exactly would you do if you bought a tub, anyway? Just tell them to deliver it, I guess.

I don't know that it beats it, but the oddest thing I have ever seen on a wedding registry is a body fat measuring device. Yeah, that's something you will really need for your new home.

LOL...that is pretty random! The tackiest thing I've ever seen on a registry was on my own - we put dog food on ours because we have three dogs, and there is a running joke about how much food they eat...well we got two 50 lbs bags at our reception! We thought it was hellarious, but thats just our personality. I think we got TP too because my husband put some on there as a joke as well.

It is weird that they asked for two tubs when they only have one bathroom and the tubs wouldn't even fit in there..maybe they did it as a joke too? I would have just rolled my eyes and moved on.

Crazy friend story!!! My favorite!

I didnt have a problem with it, but my husband just about had a fit when he saw that his cousin registered for a hair dryer, he just thought that was the tackiest thing he had ever seen and still to this day will mention it every once in a while.

Mine was a couple registered for all the Kate Spade china, stemware and silverware. These kids have not a penny to their names, but they insisted on that Kate Spade set. Needless to say, they got 2 glasses and a serving dish, that was it. I think we all were like "Huh?" and decided that they were in need of linens and everyday dishes much more than they were in need of Kate Spade anything.

Oh... My... Goodness! And I thought people registering for X-Boxes and DVDs was bad! A $3000 bathtub is going waaaaay too far!

Now, I don't know if this beats two great big bathtubs, but I did see someone put their entire living room furniture on their registry. Couch, love seat, end tables, and the coffee table. I've also seen people register for big screen plasma TVs.

Good luck with the crazy friend!
