The teddy bear incident comes to mind. Christians say you'll burn in Hell, but don't seek punishment here on earth.

I know Islam doesn't punish you for not believing, but they do punish you for insulting their religion.

Rhemason - that stuff happened centuries ago; and Westboro, as heinous as they are, are pretty unique, are they not?

Majeed - But you do apply your laws to non-believers as well as believers. What other religions do that?

No, look at Christianity and a few other religions.

Also, just because it's a Muslim country doesn't mean it's an Islamic (adhering to Islam) country. Many Muslims have their culture and Islam mixed, so their actions are not always based on Islam as culture plays a role in it as well.

As for the teddy bear, it was a misunderstanding and nothing more. The British Muslims were first to speak out against it and also where the only group who were able to talk to the president of sudan and get the woman pardoned and freed. British itself was helpless to do anything about it.

As for Punishment on non-believers. It's quite simple regardless of faith. You obey the laws of the land you live in, break the laws and face the punishment. This is true whether your east or west.

As for personal attacks and insults to the prophet of Islam and God. That itself is a declaration of war. What genius insults other's faith and then not expect any retaliation?

Absolutely not.

Ever heard of the Crusades?

Picture this pleasant image: Spanish conquerors with a priest baptizing native infants, a little holy water on the head and smash! Slammed to death against rocks to send them straight to heaven before they backslide.

How about the religiously persecuted “Heretics” that were burned alive while the townsfolk praise God in frenzied cheering of past centuries.

So no, Islam has nothing new on the world that hasn’t been done by countless other religions throughout history.

I think the only reason it is so discussed today is because many people associate suicide bombers with the Islamic traditions because for one thing, the minority who approve of such tend to be outspoken professing Muslims. At least today it seems that way—not that the one automatically leads to the other.

Ever hear of Westborough Baptist Church?

Shariah Laws are based on Quranic injenctions and the statements of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Many laws were also added by the schloars agreed decisions like punishment for any one Muslim or non-Mulim who will insults Prophet Mohammad or even God. The law is not only for Non-Muslims. If a Muslim names his dog or what ever animal Mohammad, they will give the same punishment to Muslim also.
