Global Warming means an average long term increase in the temperature level.
The distribution of this increase will not be even and some areas of the earth can even expect locally decreased average temperatures. Nevertheless this does not contradict the global average increase of temperatures. It is indeed a local result of it.
Blaming extreme wether within the margins of temperature variation of the earth on global warming is wrong... UNLESS the maximum intensity of these weather increases as well as their statistical occurence.

Yes we should call it Climate Change, since that's what it actually is.
Oh and I was thinking about this last night, because of an answer someone gave me about how Scientists know how quickly these climate change occurrences happened in the past. The person mentioned tree rings and ice cores. My mind started chewing on this and I inwardly laughed. For one thing what was the oldest tree ever recorded? The next thing is that only tells you the changes in that particular area in which that tree had been growing.
As for Ice Coring it can show the changes in the refreezing of ice, but I highly doubt it can accurately show how quickly the ice might have melted when it did melt.
The only real way to show an accurate global temperature change is taking the temperature of our atmosphere. And that technology only developed when we were able to successfully send up ships into outer space.
I have a very analytical mind and I should have been a scientist, but my heart belonged to animals.
Wow people amaze me. They don't want to use or even read logical thought processes.

the final time the Earth had a warming vogue it replace into observed by using a twelve months with "no summer season", and that somewhat occurred in the final couple hundred years in areas of the USA. some scientists say this climate trend could probably point out yet another ice age. the international ought to no longer warmth up and burn. there is greater concern that the earth could desire to rotate removed from the solar. climate replace is a greater precise term.

Just two phrases people use for the same thing.
"Climate change" is more scientifically correct "global warming" is catchy.
This is not a big deal. Global warming/climate change is. It's better to focus on the facts, not on the words.
Actually both should always include "anthropogenic" to be really correct, and to distinguish this mostly man made change from previous natural ones. But once again, not a big deal.

Global warming is accepted by the majority of the world scientists. Name changing doesn't change the issue that is occurring.

Calling it climate change makes it more all encompassing. They are more likely to blame everything on humans. Most people who aren't completely gullible realize that warming is generally good so some people in the global warming movement are trying to change the name just to make it sound more menacing IMO. It is obvious to me that it is a poliitical agenda by the left using cherry picked science. I do agree with Bob that it should include the phrase "man caused" or it is meaningless.

Yes - Now no matter what we can scare the public with climate change.
Since there is no such thing as a static climate, and warming isn't going to happen every year (even with ever increasing amounts of co2) there has to be a new way to market this stuff to keep the money rolling in.
Remember the quote: "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." Mencken
