Woot.
I am a Christian, and I too believe in absolute truth. It annoys me when people tell me my beliefs are correct "along with all other beliefs".
I'm like, "Hold on - Christianity claims to be true, and it claims to be the ONLY way to heaven. That means that if your religion is a way to heaven, then my beliefs are dead wrong."
Lots of religions have mutually exclusive beliefs; they cannot both be right. I think the people that say that all religions are right and all will get you into heaven haven't a clue about what most religions actually teach.
In other words, I agree with you right there. I'd rather go looking for the truth than go looking for what feels good. If I am wrong, I want to know.

Every religion is worshipping the same God, whether they admit it or not. Some people may not worship the Lord in the correct way, but there is only one truth, and one God, the creator and the preserver.
People tend to have the faith they have down to where they live and grew up, and the customs of their homeland. Those who think for themselves will hopefully begin to devote their life to God in the right way; your religion should not suit your lifestyle, your lifestyle should suit God.

Religions can certainly INCLUDE facts. But I highly doubt that they can consist SOLELY of facts. Although I'm quite sure that many people BELIEVE they've chosen 100% factual religions. However, I venture to say that most people choose religions due to feeling a sense of loyalty towards the religions they were raised within and/or because the religions are carbon copies of their own biases.

Because man creates God in man's image - not the other way around.
For instance, two people, both Christians, can use the same bible to rationalize two very different sets of beliefs. The bible, as well as any other religious text, can be used to facilitate peace, love, tolerance and acceptance. But on the same note, it can be used to justify war, bigotry, and hate.
So essentially, religion is how man interprets it. There is no universal truth in reference to religion.

If they are looking for religion I guess they would have itching ears and want to hear what they like,
What we all need is a Savior and love and life,
it's hard to find some fellowship that has the true life of God
in the Bible it states that if they have a form of Godliness but deny the power thereof, from such turn away
I would say we need a relationship, not religion
I am not trying to persuade you, just answering the question

To each his own. I thought choosing a religion was based on the individuals themselves. I am not a Christian, I choose not to be because i do not agree with the practices and teachings. I believe any religion could be false. No one really knows. If one believes in THEIR religion they follow then so be it. It is a chance one has to take.

If all religions are different routes to the same destination, then it makes sense to choose a route that best suits you and that makes the most sense to you personally.
But I wouldn't choose a religion to fit my "lifestyle" -- I would choose a religion that fits my ethical code and my intuitions about the nature of the Divine.

That person is misguided and misguiding. Do NOT seek religion! For it is a RELATIONSHIP with your Maker that you should seek. The relationship will change your lifestyle for the better (if you want it to). ALL people need it, not ALL people seek it. There's PLENTY of proof that He is the Truth. He died for me, I live for Him.
I'm not trying to impose, just telling the Truth and giving you an option to accept it. We cry because we say we are rejected (by the world) yet when Jesus comes around...You Reject Acception.

It's not necessarily as self-serving as it first seems.
All people try to make sense of the world in which they live. Religion (or lack thereof) is part of a person's system of belief and religious/spiritual proposals either make sense to them or they don't. When someone encounters a system of beliefs which fits with the way they already see the world, it is much easier to adopt, then to take a leap of faith into something that is essentially alien with the way they already perceive the world to be. It may not weigh strongly against scientific standards of objectivity, but this way of doing things has its own internal logic.

Unfortunately, what is wrong in today's world is man wanting God to agree with him. Instead of seeking to follow the teachings of Jesus, many people just want to find a church that will agree with all the wrong things they are doing. There are plenty of churches (that CLAIM to be churches) that will do just that.
People should seek a church that preaches the unchanging Word of God, and live their lives according to God's Word, not seek a preacher who will pat them on the back and tell them they are OK when they are not living a Christian life.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We can apply His teachings and His love to our lives, but we should never seek to UPDATE God so He will fit OUR lifestyle.
