I agree. I will also say that when Christians do the Will of God many things can & do happen, but we must have faith. Not knowing how much faith people have is difficult to know. I know I need to do more for other people, not just Africa but also the homeless here in America. Just like Jesus was the Example, so should we be. If we should be all the sudden stripped of everything, what will people in this Great country do? They will not have electricity, running water, killing will be prevelant, suicides will increase, rape, torture, etc I believe faith is what founded this Country & that is what's been helping us so far. But when the currency is devalued like it is, soon we will be in a state where things are going to be a whole lot different. Maybe then people will come back to the realization that God exists & He was the One Who was & is in control. Good ?

Isn't this just another way to say: "atheists are spoiled"?
As if atheists are the most pampered non-group in the US?
And when you have nothing, doesn't it make sense to work it out rather than rely on superstition and believe yourself 'fated'?
What is the best thing to do if you have poor crops? Pray for rain or work on artesian wells?
As for war-torn, famine-rich Africa , it sure seems to be full of blessings doesn't it?
If my family had been butchered and I had no food on the horizon, and I was living in fear of my life, I might pray too.
Especially if I'd had no real education other than superstition, missionaries and folk tales.

I remember a cartoon that circulated a few years back. It was labeled "The Book of Judges". In the first panel it showed a wheat field. It said, "The People were blessed by God. Then, they became comfortable and neglected God. They began to turn from God to other things. God allowed enemies to come against them to wake them up. The people cried out to God. He brought them a mighty victory. The people turned back to God."
The cartoon then said "Continued on other side".
When you turned it over, the other side was identical to the first.

Being spoiled has nothing to do with being faithless. Maybe people are faithless because they see that there is NO NEED to follow or believe in god.

No. Spoiled means they do not trust God. Faith can be blind, and it is as faithless, but both sink at the same time.

"let them watch God pour out his healing and his spirit over people who have nothing."
Can you just send me a photograph of God doing that? I'd gladly pay for it.
The fact of the matter is that in the United States, it is the Christians who are by FAR the most spoiled. Just look at this Presidential election - the candidates all line up to pay homage to Christian leaders and fall all over themselves to make themselves attractive to Christians, who at the same time complain that there's no candidate who truly "shares their beliefs" for them to vote for.
Well, kiddies, the rest of us have NEVER had a candidate who shares our beliefs, and I doubt that we ever will. Christians are incredibly spoiled and still manage to whine about how persecuted they are.

Yes. When you have butt-loads of money, you don't have to think about God, supposedly.
I absolutely agree. Keep the faith, and God bless.

Poor people have the most faith because their quality of life is poorer, therefore it makes them feel better to think it will be better when they die. It's called a coping mechanism.
People in the west have less faith due to a higher standard of education.
