How old were you when you realized that you didn't want to listen to anyone who said anything scary/new?
When did you decide that not changing is better than correcting what's wrong?
How can you believe that Fear is just normal, and that Understanding something is worse than Fearing it?
Do you believe in hell, and if so, why? All you use it for is telling anyone who disagrees with you to go there?
With all the fear and hiding away that you must do... Haven't you realized that sometimes being conservative (unlike being homosexual) is a choice.

To those who think liberals are *******: I'm no liberal... why do you assume that? I just think that liberals are on the right track.
However.... you make a good point, I must be homosexual seeing as I'm friends with some...
To those who say "Ya capitalims": Borrowing money only to pay it back 3 times isn't what I call happy.

We mock what we don't understand; and God knows I don't understand conservatives.
To tell you the truth, I don't understand how people can stay anchored to the rocks when the water levels are rising. Change and progress are necessary for sheer survival, but conservatives are not designed to evolve. It goes against their core.
I absolutely don't understand it, and I feel sorry for them in a way, but at least there is a warm blanket of dellusion that protects them.
Do you think it's a choice to be conservative, or do you think they have a limitted capacity of scope, so they cannot see beyond that which has been told to them? Maybe they are like the fledgling birds that cannot fly because the can only eat the predigested food that's fed them over and over again. They peep the same desparite peeps for more of the same.

Maybe it's not that we need to evolve as much as we need to wake up.

I am a Conservative. I am also a homosexual.
I think the United States should follow the Constitution. That's what a conservative is. I think Ron Paul is fabulous, getting rid of income tax, ending the War on Terror and the War on Drugs, etc.
I'm only afraid that George Bush will declare some state of emergency next October, cancel elections the following month, and be the new dictator of America. That is my fear.
As for Hell, I do believe such a place exists, but not for political reasons. I believe in Jesus Christ. He is my Lord and Savior. That works for me. I don't care who disagrees with me politically, religiously, or even that I think fried mushrooms and onions for breakfast is good. I don't think that's any reason for me, or any one for that matter, to say they are condemned to Hell.
And as far as hiding, I don't. I go to work and come home. I'm a fairly easy person to find. I don't even have my number unlisted in the phone directory.
