Okay, before I start, this dream had religious aspects, but I'm definitely not a religious person. I did work as a caretaker in Belfast cathedral 15 years ago, and the that's where the dream was set.
So, in the dream, I was in the cathedral by the main doors, looking up towards the altar.
But the cathedral was in a terrible condition.
The lovely marble floors had turned into bare concrete, and there was loads of weeds growing up between the seats.
some of the chapels had small private dimly candle-lit services going on in them.
As I walked towards the altar, the weeds started to clear and there was poeple sitting in the seats praying and singing.
Suddenly, I had a mystery friend walking beside me.
We went down into the crypts to the caretakers rest-room where we found an unidentified celebrity.
We started singing to him the Pink Floyd song "Brick In The Wall", but we changed the chorus to "hey Jesus, leave those kids alone".
That's when I woke up.
Anyone got any ideas?

Another detail has come back to me.
As I walked through the cathedral, moving from the main doors to the altar area where the doorway down to the crypts is, the cathedral got brighter, cleaner, newer and more modern looking, until parts of it looked like they were brand new.

@ LB.
I just felt normal when I woke up.
A little confused because the dream was so vivid, and I rarely remember them for more than about half an hour after I wake, but the details of this are stil clear in my mind.
I certainly don't feel I should be religious. Religion fuels hate. The religious hatred, and the murders in teh name of religion in my home country is what converted me to a life in athiesm.

I think it may be job related. You went back to a previous job in your dream. It looked in a bad way. Other people at work detached from you, cosy in their side chapels then as you got more into the main area of the job, it got better. You made a difference by being there. Could this sequence apply to your current job, or one under consideration?

I would think it means you have issues with the way religion is run.
The cathedral is the pinnacle of the church yet it lay in disrepair, neglected and unloved.
You entered the crypt, which could be interpretated as the very beginning of the cathedral (church/ religion).
Here you find a celebrity maybe just a left over thought from the day possibly someone you have some admiration for in life.
Your companion is your sub-concious providing you with moral support in your task.
You sing your angry song which is your latent anger at religion, it's side effects and it's meddling in peoples lives, which you wish to change or alert people about.

perhaps the state of the cathedral when u first enter represents how u have been feeling lately u know sad tired or whatever and how u have gone past that and are know moving on and feeling happier which is why there is a bright light and the church starts to get nicer. Just a guess

I have the weirdest dreams and find they usually link to something in the back of my mind that causes anxiety (like a driving test), how did you feel when you woke up - happy, sad, refreshed? Do you feel you should be religious even though you're not? It's a very personal thing so maybe only you can work it out

First of all, you don't have to be religious and be of one specific church to accept God the Father and accept Jesus into your heart.
Organized religions are structures for people who agree on certain tenets or system of rules, but not all people who go to church have accepted Jesus as their Savior and try to act on His behalf. That's why religion gets so muddled, as people don't always practice what they preach.
That said, this dream tells a lot. You have much respect for the cathedrals of --- Ireland? ---- and you recognized when you worked there the Holy Spirit even though you didn't know who or what that was. The Holy Spirit was your mystery companion in your dream. The clearing weeds are your attitudes towards wanting God in your life changing, your singing Pink Floyd "The Wall" means you are not ready to accept God in the Catholic or Protestant form with all its rules, regulations, and sometime convoluted truths.
The beauty of the cathedral in your dream is your hope to find a more personal God without the convoluted opinions of the church. The Holy Spirit as your mystery companion is your guide. The feeling you felt when you were aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit in your dreams, that is the feeling you need to seek that will confirm truth in your heart when you hear or read it.
It's okay to seek God on your own and in your own time.
If you are looking for a painless way to start, there are 2 good websites that talk of God as a positive power in your life.
One is www.hourofpower.org
The Reverend Robert Schuller at the Crystal Cathedral in California has a televised evangelical program on Sundays that focusing on positive mesages of God and Jesus without heavy doctrine or yelling and screaming hell and brimfire. They offer instead messages of hope and ways to develop personal relationships with God and Jesus.
The second is www.family.org
A man named Dr. James Dobson developed his own ministry after years of frustration and dissatisfaction with organized religion. He also talks of accepting God and Jesus in your heart and developing personal relationships with them as opposed to going to any specific church.
Your goal is accepting God and Jesus on your own terms and not according to the dictates of a church. Your dream is telling you it's time. The Holy Spirit will guide you.
At least check out the Hour of Power broadcasts if you can. The music is at least very impressive without being too "churchy".

dreams are strange, who knows where they came from, last night i dreamt i was tricked into having drugs sent to my workplace and met up with this persons accomplice who i drove to my work (which was at somewhere completely different with a lift that went down 35 floors) and she disappeared and reappeared with this package with money and white filled bags in it.
Then it ended and i woke up with a thumping heart rate. Dreams aren't meant to mean anything, they are likes films you watch on a long flight to keep you entertained.

don't go to bed high... haha.. nah, just kidding.. sort of.
In all seriousness, your dream is about your feelings about some kind of universal issue... not about your feelings about jesus (who btw was also not a fan of religion.) You are definately not happy with something... be it religious, political, or other...
In fact, I'd go so far as to say you were pissed about something... something big.

It means that the end times are coming and everything will be destroyed, even the churches. The our Lord and savior will come again and everything will start over. The churches will be rebuilt, life will be again, as far as the celebrity I think it was Rick James, and as far as the Pink Floyd song I think that meant, you were talking to the "Antichrist" who will appear as Jesus but is really a fake...........
