My son's preschool wants to celebrate Diwali/Holi in school to introduce kids to other cultures. Any ideas on what we can do?

Ok I think I wasn't clear in my question. I'm Indian, so know very well how Holi/Diwali is celebrated. The question is, what do we do with little kids in a school setting where I'm the only Indian?

Diwali and Holi is long gone... it went by 2 months ago.... i celebrate it.... in holi, you take colored powder and pretty much attack people with it... it's so much fun but dangerous in preschool---it may get in thier eyes... another thing in Holi is Rangoli--where you take the powder and make designs...

now instead of using powder you can use chalk or paint and do it on the road or sidewalk... .to celebrate diwali (the new years in india) just go crazy with fireworks.......
and yeah, so i think what would be best would be like umm... making rangoli stuff... like taking chalk or something and then draw a design on the ground or something.... uhhhh then you can like play games and stuff, like a new year... but really, rangoli would be the besttttttt.........

I am not indian but my country celebrate diwali and i think it would be nice for them to make their own dia with clay or play dough and the wick they can use different colors to put in them with the fake fire or just use the wick alone. They can also or just put ghee
