To what degree do you believe TV contributes to youth violence?

Who knows? It'd be hard to prove reasonably either way.

We can correlate youth violence statistics to TV content all day long, but at the end of day, there is no direct link.

While there is little doubt that there is vastly greater access and exposure to corrupting influences these days, the basic responsibility for youth behavior has not changed. It lies solely with the parents.

Perhaps some parents just aren't willing or able to step up the parental guidance in the face of the increased availability and potency of outside influences. Perhaps after a generation of success, we've become complacent and our failure to instill a basic sense of personal responsibility leaves our children vulnerable to corruption.

I dont think it contributes alot to youth violence...TV is filtered in many ways

When a show has violence in it, it states a clear warning like Parental Descresion Advised. If the youth were smart they wouldn't watch it. So no, its what there getting them selves into

it depends on how you raise your child,by letting them know that somethings on t.v are not real or harmful, allows children to develope a deeper understanding of what they are watching. If they have a complete understanding between determining what is fact and what is fiction, then there wouldnt be much of a problem, just limit the amount of television being watched , also manage what is being watched

None at all. Fault lies with the parents for not teaching kids that it's fake. I grew up watchng violent TV and I turned out just fine.

im shure it does. its hard to say how much. what about video games. i think they do to. but to put a # on it is just not going to tell you anything.
