Like sensei said the closes thing is the Jo I would go as far as saying the hanbo and the rokusha bo. But the truth is martial Arts dont use pugel sticks unless the instructor is using them during training in order to avoid needless injury during training to students or themselves from wrekless overenthusiastic students.

Oh yeah! I remember the Pugil Sticks. They were used to simulate fighting with your rifle. Shuffle-Forward-Shuffle!!!

I was a green belt when I enlisted into the USMC. Crazy like a maniac and whipped azz with the pugil sticks.

It can be used like a Jo but you would be limited compared to Jo techniques.

No martial art uses them.

The pugi stick training is a central component of USMC bootcamp for aggression training. As they say, pugi sticks are 99% aggression and 1% technique.

USMC boot camp is to train one into becoming a killer in the shortest period of time.
