First off, it doesn't seem that you understand the concept of having a girlfriend... it's not simply taking a girl out to eat all the time, or spending all your money on her, etc. If having a girlfriend makes you broke then you're obviously going after the wrong kind of girls.
Find a girl that doesn't expect you to always take her out to restaurants or have you buy her lots of things. Most normal, nice girls would like to be with a sweet guy that makes her feel good, not just someone who spends money on her.
Being in a relationship isn't just about going out to dinner all the time! Just spending normal, everyday time with eachother should be enough. Doing something special, like going out for a nice dinner once and awhile, when you can afford it, or seeing a movie on the weekends, etc., wouldn't cost very much, and if you meet a girl that wants more than that then she isn't the kind you should waste your time or money on.
Having a NICE girlfriend shouldn't cost anything at all.

Getting a girlfriend is not like getting a wife. You don't have to be responsible for her well being in order to be happy. You don't have to have a lot of money to have a great date as well. Besides, as a student, how many times can you go out on a date in a month? Maybe once a week or something. Most of the time, you will spend time with her in school, which is free. Moreover, when you go on a date, you don't have to go to a nice restaurant all the time. Maybe once a month... Other times, just go to a fast food restaurant like any other students. However, if you feel like doing "more" for your girlfriend, you can always get a job to get more money to spend.
My point is, don't hold back your heart just because you don't have a lot of money for dating. Dating is not marriage.

Hello,
I don't think you need a girlfriend so much as a job. If you have spare time after studying, you should consider getting work. You can save some money and then when you have some financial security, you may decide to meet a young lady. In the mean time it will do you good to meet general friends and just enjoy going to cheap or free social events that may be organised by the student union or such. But a job is a good thing for you at this time I would say my friend.
Good luck.

If it (the girlfriend) is something that you want, then go and work for it. Get a parttime job. If you already have one, either get another one or ask for a raise. It's the same thing when you have a family. If you need money, you work more hours, get a different job, or get an extra job. You don't complain, because no one cares except you.
Sorry, but this is the cold hard truth. The girlfriend will be extremely impressed by your initiative.
Also, if she really likes you, maybe you can go "Dutch" a few times...?

yes. First off. to me i don think relationships should be based on money because if she wants u for u then she won expect for u to buy her the world every other friday. Its nice to take her out every week but u don have to go somewhere expensive everytime. One week u could go to a restaurant then the next week jus go see a movie. R u could drive somewhere with pinic. R go over each others house with a couple of friends r jus u two and watch movies.
Sometimes the things that are the most special come from the heart and not the pocket.

Well, to be honest, most chicks expect to be wine'd and dined so you will need to find a very understanding woman...
But then again I also feel that any chick that would turn down a good partner due to financial hardship isn't worth being with in the first place...
But for a practical solution...
Go to the website of your local radio station and see if you can find their "Half price gift cert" page.
There you will find $50.00 gift cert's for $25.00.
They have them for everything from Pappa John's Pizza to high end restruants where $50.00 will buy you an appitizer.
They even have non-food options (usually) for spa's and even dental work!!
If you choose a good, mid-priced restruant you can spend $25.00 out of pocket and have a great night worth $50.00!!
And since it is a gift cert it will cover food AND drinks...
I hope this helps!
Good luck man!

Find a girlfriend in the same situation as you who isn't a gold digger and has a very frugal sense. Frugal people (such as myself) know how to find cheap or free entertainment and cook good meals from scratch. Since you are a poor student (and I have been there), you want to find someone who can understand and live within the same means, not a spoiled rich girl who cannot understand your plight and has unrealistic expectations. Just stay in school and hopefully you will someday not be a poor student!
Meet for coffee...6 dollars!!!

Do things that don't cost much, like see a DVD at home, or go to an art exhibition or free concert or for a walk, or pool your resources and cook dinner together! Much more fun ...

It should not be a burden to have a girlfriend.
Are you trying to impress someone or what do you gain by spending money on someone?
Do you spend money on your friends just to keep them as your friends or are they happy just to be in your company?
Just a few questions to get your going
