We've all had this happen since Bush's "outsourcing" on jobs!
When I get someone that I don't understand, I politely ask to speak to someone who speaks "english".....if the rep tells me that they can help me because they speak "english"......then I hang up!

I then write the credit card company and complain about the poor customer service from the "non-english speaking" reps.
If more cardholders holders complain, perhaps the companies will do something........if not, pay off the card and close out the account.

Yeah it's annoying. It's not that they don't speak English, their accents are so thick that it's barely intelligible. Each time I got routed to an Indian call center I wound hanging up in disgust either because I could not undertand them or they didn't ge twhat my problem was, always transferring me around. Highly irritating.

They are calling you from India. Despite the fact that english is taught in the schools there, its not their first language.

I get calls from "roger smith" from bell canada's call center in India. All of the Bell Canada call center people have white anglo-saxon names and thick Indian accents.

I paid off all my credit cards and changed my phone number.

I don't answer the phone when it rings.

Press 2 for spanish, you'll get someone that is bilingual and living in america. hahahahahaha.

I think alot of americans are fed up with this call center crap in india and its beginning to burst. Americans don't want to talk to someone they cannot understand.

Outsourcing of the jobs.
These poor folks are getting paid squat to work for huge multi-billion dollar a year corporations.
I extended courtesy whenever I called them up, except ONE time, when the girl decided she needed to laugh at me. I guess she thought I spoke in a funny way. I think she didn't like my accent.
