They aren't trying to be prompt with your dinner... I disagree. They are trying to turn the table over. Trying to get you out. When I go out to eat I also want time to between courses. For them to bring one plate after the other as if you where in a mess hall is totally unprofessional and is far from one wants when one goes our for a good meal.

That is such a cardinal sin of the restaurant industry! In our restaurant, we have a wonderful little window in the kitchen where I can see the entire dining room, and I never, ever, ever send out a main until the app plates have been cleared from the table.

I hate that too. Some restaurants are conscious of this and it never happens. Others are clueless.

At the "clueless" restaurants, I will typically order appetizers and drinks and order the entree 15 minutes later. Just tell the waiter/waitress that you know what you want as an appetizer but are still deciding on the entree.

Actually, I rarely have that problem. Usually, they take a really long time bringing the dinner out! If they do bring the dinner out too soon, I don't complain about juggling all the plates around--I'm just thankful the dinner's there and I don't have to sit and wait for it forever!

yeah i hate that to.but the only reason they are so damn fast on getting the food out is the faster you eat the faster you leave.which for them means a empty table to serve more people so they get more business and the waitresses get more tips.

They are in a rush to get you in and out- more people in and out- more tips! So annoying! Usually I let them know ahead of time- nothing worse than lukewarm food! T

I find that when you have a salad first, you never have time to finish it before the entree comes. That's my pet peeve!
