This article near the bottom of this link says they are. Why do Roman Catholics support such hatred?

If they had more political power in the U.S. and could get our guns away from us, do you think they would do the same here??

In any country where the Roman Catholic is predominant you find such as this. It is in there nature. It is actually the very basis of their faith. They see the Catholic Church as the Kingdom on Earth and therefore believe the 'mountain kingdom' is to grow and encompass the whole earth, mis understanding the actual Gospel of the Kingdom and to whom it is to. They would do the same in the U.S., as they have have done many times over the years. The MARK OF THE BEAST also ties into the fact that in Europe there was a time when Rome was so powerful, if you were not a Catholic, thus marking yourself witht he sign of the cross on your forhead, you were not allowed to buy or sell in the market places of the city.

About 1845, if I remember correctly, the Catholic church in Mexico conducted its last official stake-burning. The victim was a medical doctor who suffered a hideous death because he insisted that the source of human conscious awareness was our own living brains. This outraged educated people around the world and the government of the dictator Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna -- the same man who defeated the Texans at the Alamo -- officially and forcibly expelled the Catholic church from Mexico for a period of one-hundred years. All the assets of the Church in Mexico were nationalized, sold, and used to feed the poor. The Mexican army burned Catholic churches to the ground in every Mexican village.

Although the Catholics were allowed to return to Mexico in 1945 (I think), there is still a great deal of animosity and resentment between the two major Christian factions in Mexico. When I lived in Mexico, it was the Protestants who were frequently accused of murdering priests, etc. Although I was unable to find the article you mentioned (but conspicuously failed to identify) within your link, it doesn't surprise me in the least that the violence is now Catholic on Protestant. Irrational belief in imaginary deities has always led to irrational violence.

The first people who persecuted Christians were Jews...(this is Biblical history).
Would they do it again, if they had the power?
Probably.
Would Muslims persecute Christians, if they had the power?
I think that's a pretty obvious question...
Historically, the Roman Catholic Church has persecuted Protestants at every opportunity.
If they had the power, would they do it here?
Unquestionably.
Anyone who has been in this forum for any length of time has noticed the animosity between atheists and Christians.
If atheists had the power, would they persecute Christians?
Hmmm...

Come to think of it, is there ANY group that has not persecuted Christians at some point in history, and if given the power, would not do so again??

Didn't Jesus warn us about this??

I'd post an obscure link to a wacky website showing how the Inuit are secretly planning on taking control of Congress and making everyone rub noses instead of shake hands, but why don't you just take my word for it--it's out there!

The article talks about "small town political boses". I think you are being presumptious by stating they are Catholics. Even this very anti-Catholic publication is not saying the intimidation is being done by the Catholic Church or by Catholics.

They apparently did this because of their refusal to pay for a Catholic celebration that used alcohol. This is what can and does happen when a government, any government is run by religious belief...those in power begin to FORCE others to adopt and adapt and do according to their religious beliefs.
Those people are not thinking...if they be Christian, was it Christian to cut their utilities? Was it loving?

the story you link to is about how some families in los pozos are being threatened with eviction because they won't pay their rent!

the families claim that they should not need to pay rent, since the local authority are catholic.

are there any muslim families in america who don't pay their rent because the local authority are protestant?

why do protestants post so many outright lies on here?

could it possibly be because their shoddy little faith can be defended no other way?
