i have a little sister, she's 14. she has been getting texts from this guy who was in my year (so he's 20) they have been very flirty, perverted etc. he sent her one that said soemthing along the lines of "all i want for xmas is you in my bed" and there's many more like that. i spoke to him on msn and told him to stop, he never replied and carried on doing it.
this is really upsetting me because she is only 14. she is not interested in him at all, and hasnt been replying to his messages for a while now. i know it would be completely illegal for him to have sex with her (thats not going to happen) but is just texting somebody so underage in this manner illegal too?i've had enough of this, its upsetting her and me and its been going on for ages. please help

my sister said she had told my parents, but i didnt realise she didnt tell them the exact context of the messages. i dont live at home, ive only spoken to her today and she's spilled all the beans.

It might be illegal, but I'm sure that if you got the authorities involved you could scare the guy off.

I don't know for sure if what's he's been doing is illegal (it may well depend on where you live), but I do believe that soliciting sexual acts from people who have identified themselves as underage is illegal. This guy is a creep and a danger (and not just to your sister). I'd call the local police and turn him in before he hurts some little girl.

it is illegal cuz 1st thing 1st when a man sleeps with a girl under 17 yeah of course its a against the law but it is also a against the law cuz he is making sexual comments to her it is also a form of stalking if she isnt into him he could also being doin it to other girls what u can do is save the txt messages and other stuff forward the messages from her phone to ur email address and then print them out and go to ur local police station and make a complaint and they will give u an investigating officer from their and they will make a case against him be live they will catch him but dont tell him that ur doing this good luck

You need to contact your local Sheriffs office. If nothing else you can maybe get him on harassment. The laws are so different from State to State that you really need to just contact law enforcement in your county! This guy sounds like a desperate freak! The sooner you get this taken care of the safer you will be!Good Luck...

Sure it might be harmless, but as every adult except Michael Jackson knows, it is not appropriate for a grown man to share a bed with a child that is not his. Whilst this man hasn't actually touched your sister, forewarned is forearmed. I would let your parents know about this ASAP and get your sister a new number for her phone.

It's going on for ages and you haven't told you parents and why not. I know probably nothing would happen between them but you need to be sure. What woudl happen if she did go to meet him and then your parents found out you already knew and didn't tell them. I woudl tell them and put a stop to this before something really happens

I don't know for sure if it's illegal just because of age, but it sounds like harrassment to me. She could get a protection order then he can't contact her at all. Try having your parents talk to him and if nothing else works, she can change phone numbers. Good luck.

This is a potentially dangerous situation and needs prompt attention. Call your local police station and report that a 20 year old man is stalking your young sister. they will check him out and warn him off. he may be just a dumb immature idiot with not much else going on in his life, but he needs to be warned off.
