does it hurt to get a tattoo on the chest?
im skinny, but i've done a lot of push ups, so it aint that bad..
i'm about the same size as plies (http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/9351/00ho0.jpg)
and one more thing, if u got a tattoo on the chest, plzz post it here :) thx

Depends on where on the chest. But yes, it hurts. A whole freaking lot. Over the breast bone there is not a great deal of fat or muscle, and any tattoo over bone hurts. Over the pectorals, like the one I got over my heart, there is a confluence of nerves as they lead to your arms, so you'll feel the pain not only on your chest, but the closer you get to the shoulder and armpit, you'll feel it shoot up your arms.
Don't let that dissuade you though, ALL tattoo's hurt. Get something special if it's on your chest, as it's right above your heart and it's an important symbolism.

I have a tattoo on my chest and it hurt like none other. Especially on the sternum bone. I dont have any pictures of it but its a big tree. I just got my 1/2 sleeve started yesterday and compared to the chest the arm isnt terrible... but it hurts regardless!

Yes it hurts to get a tattoo on the chest, well to me atleast.
I have two traditional style sparrows with ribbons that say mom and dad and either side. sorry I don't actually have a picture of them.
( and they will soon be changed to something else anyway)
Just make sure if you get something there that you are sure you REALLY want there.
But yes a tattoo anywhere is going to hurt somewhat.
But good luck if you get anything.

Please disregard any ones answer that put down freedom of expression.Most books have illustrations. Yes it hurts to get a tattoo, anywhere on the body.It is just a little less painful on muscle, like the chest, calf,buttock, and quads.Anywhere there is bone like right above your crack, shoulder blade or ankle is going to be more painful.Also think about what you are going to put on your body and who you trust with that task,after all it is for life.

It hurts to get a tattoo anywere! Depending on your pain tolerence, it will vary how much it hurts. I have three on my chest, but I do not have pictures to show you. I find that tats on fatty parts of the body hurt me more than on bony parts.

I have one on the center of my chest, just below the collarbone (I think the bone is called the menubrium). I prepped myself for serious pain, but it actually wasn't all that bad.

It does hurt in some spots,
By your nipple and your sternum is killer

think about writing on a precious book tattoes deface the human body and to my understanding its a sin to clutter the body that God made and put no tattoes on...don't get something that can not be removed ... it will be a marked curse in days to come
