The shadow extends westward.

If you are standing east of a wall and the sun rises in the east, lighting up the wall and yourself (at least, the east side of your body), then you will see your shadow on the wall.

A few minutes before the sun rises (not an hour, just a few minutes, like 5 or 10), the sky above you is already lit by the sun and appears blue (and clouds will look white or yellowish). If you have a clear horizon to the West (an ocean, a plain, a valley if you are on a mountain), you will see the shadow cast by Earth projected on the atmospheric dust and water droplets, in the West.

This shadow will lower itself (like a wall being lowered). It should disappear just as the Sun gets above the horizon.

The same thing can be seen at sunset (with the directions reversed).

When the Sun rises in the East, the shadow will lie to the west of anything tall enough to cast a shadow.

In the west. The shadow of the Earth is easily visible in the west just before sunrise, and in the east just after sunset. Look for it, and you'll see it just about any night. Most people never look at the sky!

by means of easy diffraction brought about by using the ambience the solar will seem to set promptly in the west some days in the previous the honestly spring equinox. as an occasion, immediately, March 17, 2016, in Chicago. the solar went down in the "center" of our east west streets, yet real equinox happens on the twentieth. So, for me, immediately marks the top of wintry climate.
