if she's an aussie then mate means "you".
it's just a term - read nothing into it.

the wonderful thing about first dates, is that you NEVER REEEALLY know if they are dates or a meeting with a friend until you are in the date itself.

you'll find out when you meet up with her.

There are failures who remain down, and there are failures who works hard to move up in life. Does he have to be successful? He doesn't have to be if we were dating, but I would expect him to be motivated and strive into becoming successful and wouldn't mind if he gets assistance from me especially if it's going to go beyond dating. Make a lot of money? Not necessary. An average paying job is fine. I don't expect to live a lavish lifestyle just a comfortable one. Carry a lot of status? I don't care what others think. Know a lot of connections? Of course, when you do it takes you further in life.

I have always believe that you should treat every date as a friends first.... get to know the person....see if you would like this person without any hint of sexual attraction... if there is any chemistry you will know what you have in a friend.... the attraction will come....I"m not a man ... but I always said... that if I was .... I would become there friend first........... just be very nice and respectful.... one of my best boyfriends.. started out to be my friend.... we got to know each others little secrets... we didn't make all the mistakes...we knew what each other liked and dislikes....we truly respected each other.... till one day... we didn't want to be boyfriend and girlfriend... we wanted to be man and wife.. been happy every day... Good Luck!!!

If she calls you mate, take it as a compliment. Great way to start a relationship. Either way it's a date to meet up. Enjoy.

Yes, that's a date. And what should she call you at this point? What if she had said "I'm really sorry, potential husband, but I can't make it"!!! I bet you would run for the hills!

you will just have to wait and see.. in contexted i would say that its just the way she talks.. ask her up front on your date, be nice and just ask if you are just friends or if she sees more in the future being up front can save a lot of hard ship and wondering..but it definately a date.

Mate, is just a word for friend in british or austrailian. So if she is either, she probably still digs u! :) consider that :)

It's a date. You both need to know if you are compatible and want to continue dating. You will know that by getting to know her better.
