Well.................. I am 42 years old, have had 3 heart operations, have diabetes, over weight, high blood pressure, kidney cancer, etc, etc. My sticker pecks up every time the wind blows, Your husband should first see a heart doctor to determine if his sexual problems are due to blood circulation and or undetected heart problems. Undetected prostate problems can also be a cause for this problem.
Although smoking , diabetes and stress are often times contributing factors to sexual disfuntion, a high percentage of people have trouble getting and or maintaining an erection because of poor blood circulation.
In fact one of the first signs that a person has a heart problem is the inabilty to get and or maintain an erection.
I know that in todays world people will run to the doctor for viagra or some other form of medication for this problem but often times in doing so they fail to realize that the cause of the problem may be more serious.
Get him to a doctor and have him checked out good before jumping on the viagra

He needs to go to a doctor. He needs to take better care of himself. As a diabetic he should not be smoking. He really needs to quit that. He needs to exercise. Exercise increases the endorphins and releases tensions and stress and really does help with sex life. It is something that the two of you can do together. Start taking walks together or doing some other physical activity that you both can get into. Tennis is a great sport that anyone can pick up at any age and can be a year round sport because of indoor tennis courts.

Get him to his doctor. Have him discuss the issues. They may even be able to prescribe something for him to help with the sexual issue. If he doesn't want to take anything then go with the exercise program.

He can attempt to stop smoking and get in better health. According to the information I heard about diabetes and stress can cause ED (Erectile Dysfunction). He should talk to his doctor, they make a little blue pill so he can get hard again.

For you just because he doesn't get hard doesn't mean y'all can't have sex. There are other parts of his body that may give you some pleasure (he might enjoy it too), there are also sex toys y'all can use. Some of them you can use on yourself. However, in my experience sex is always better when there is lover with you.

Diabetics should never smoke. The stress on the heart from both will probably put him in a very early grave. He needs to stop smoking now and have regular check ups to control the diabetes which is always worse with stress

Has he considered talking to a doctor about the erection problem? At his age, he should be doing some daily exercise for over-all good health anyway...

And with all of the media coverage here in Australia about anti-smoking campaigns... he could consider quitting!

As diabetes allows for lots of healthy food... you could both look at various 'stamina-enhancing' vegetables?

And for what you's aren't getting at all.. perhaps a daily multi-vitamin.
