He's criticising you. Why did he go out with you in the first place then? If you aren't good enough now, were you not good enough then? I think he's trying to change you; control you; alter you into his idea of the type of person he wants to be with. (under his thumb) I suggest you ditch him and find someone who will love you as you are and not make unkind personal comments.

Honestly... be there in body and mind. My wife for example, she is there but I can tell she is running lists of things to do through her lil head or thinking about whats next at work tomorrow etc. So... be truly attentive.

Sounds like he's looking for more of a commitment than you're able or prepared to give him.

trust me i have always had guys say that to me and they always want something from you !!!
i got heaps ov guy friends and believe it or not nearly all of them have said that to because they waned to have sex and i said no !!!!! man n i took them as just friends nothing more!!!!!!
that somethingthey want from you is SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
