So, is it that ya can't physicly kill him or is it that if ya do everything gets reset, if so when does it get reset to?

It is disturbing that you say no comments about time travel being impossible when your question proves exactly that.

Time travel backwards is impossible and your paradoxical question is proof of this. If it were possible to travel back in time in the way you are imagining, then it would be possible to kill your grandfather, which would mean that you wouldn't exist, which would mean that you wouldn't exist in the future to be able to go back in time...

If time travel were possible in the 'Back to the Future' sense, and humans ever achieved it, then don't you think we'd have people from the future coming back and telling us all how great it is?

That is idea was explored in the movie "The Butterfly Effect" and all three "Terminator" movies. The only sure outcome of the event is that you would not exist in your time in the future. Only time will tell how the future will be.

the theory would have to be more detailed, to be true, such as "you cant go back and physically kill your biological grandfather before your father was conceived" the only exception to that would be if your grandfathers sperm was stored and available and used by the grandmother, but there would have to be a guarantee that she would use it, and it would be successful

When you go back in time, you don't travel in a "straight line", but also slightly to one side, in other words, to a parallel universe, so you don't change your own past but the past in a parallel universe, which was "always" like that, i.e. it was destined that someone from the future of a parallel universe was going to come and kill that person. It doesn't make any difference to your own past.

It is all possible.

You will exist, and your grandfather will be dead in another universe. You wont disappear because that would require the destruction of matter into nothing, which is impossible.

It is all moot though because time travel is only possible forwards.

More importantly.

What if you go out, meet your young grandmother, do the indescent thing and go back to find out you are your dad...?

Try explaining that to the kids....!
