How to bleach and dye faux fur?

How do I bleach and dye faux fur? I just bought a capelet which is an unfortunate shade of brown and want it either white, cream or black. The fur itself is very short and thick, not the long wispy kind.

No matter the strand length; the likelyhood is that the material is synthetic. Certainly you might have some success "removing" some of the color; but dying a synthetic is a bit of a challenge.
