Indeed I do. His music is unique and for the most part, very pretty. He really introduced something new that did not bruise the classical aesthetic in the way that the serialists and atonalists did. The creation of beauty is a serious business and something that is very difficult to do whilst maintaining depth and meaning. Those that try and fail create a sort of pastiche of beauty. Debussy created a beauty that has depth and meaning, a portrayal of the human psyche, spirit and intellect.

I love Debussy. He wrote beautiful music. I played Clare De Lune for a recital at school last semester for my jury.

Yes, I think most of Debussy's music is very beautiful. When played correctly, it has almost a magical sound quality. I find his music generally very difficult music to play though.

Only his Clair De Lune is like my taste -though I wish Debussy would have composed it for the harp directly and not for piano!!

Yes, I like Debussy very much. He is one of my favorite French composers.

I was wondering why you asked; you didn't offer any details, so I checked your profile. And WELCOME to q & a.

Since I don't know your background or experience, I might offer the following on French composers, and their compositions for your consideration. If you're not familiar with them, you may enjoy them.

Ravel: "Daphnis and Choe" ballet suites(2).

Debussy: his 3 "Images" for orchestra, is truly magnificent; it and La Mer"(the Sea) are my two favorites by him.

Cesar Franck: "Symphonic Variations" for piano and orchestra: glorious; "The Accursed Hunstman": thrilling and foreboding.

Charles Marie-Widor: a seemingly not very well known amongst his more famous rivals; he wrote one piece for the organ, which is downright stupendous: you must hear this; "Toccata"(5th and last movement) of his 5th organ symphony.

Dukas: you probably know this one: "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"(in Disney's "Fantasia".

Again welcome, and enjoy

Debussy is one of my favorite :)
I also like more traditional composers, but Debussy really can draw invisible images with his harmony and melody..
He once said: "Schubert's music is like dried flowers!"
