It is believed that the Batak tibes are the oldest inhabitants of the Philippines. According to sources, they are one of the principal tribes located in Puerto Princesa City on Palawan Island. They are nomadic and are often accustomed to abandoning their villages. They are also cave dwellers. The average Batak man barely stands five feet tall and women wear sarongs and are bare breasted usually. The Batak are a negrito people, with kinky (curly) hair and dark skin.
