One doesn't like cats and the other doesn't like dogs - I think. Or is that the other way round?

Why does there have to be a difference??? Why can't you like both? I love dogs but I am out at work all day 8am - 6pm. I figure that's not fair on a dog so I did not replace my lurcher when she was sadly put down. But I love animals and now have 2 rescue cats. They are great and really affectionate.
Both have advantages and disadvantages but we are all animal lovers - you just choose what most fits your lifestyle and personality at the time.

well, according to a few rumers, they say that dog lovers are more talkative and friendly and active while cat lovers are more quiet, strange and mysterious. dog lovers also tend to love going out to shop while cat lovers are more online shoppers.
i personally like dogs more but am quite shy and quiet like a cat lover. lol
EDIT: i agree with the person who said that if u say something bad about a dog, the owner will give u information while the cat lover will just scream: 'NO, CATS ARE BETTER THAN DOGS!'

Cats tend to be very independent and sometimes snooty. Dogs on the other hand fawn over their owners and are overly friendly to them. Sooo, I would guess that cat owners are more secure in themselves than dog lovers? On the other hand, cats don't have to be taken out or walked. So you could just say that cat lovers are lazy and dog lovers are energetic? LOL.

I think cat people are more sensitive, and individuals. They're clever and charming and the quiet ones are quiet caring. Most dog people I've met are louder and more bossy. They're not necessarily better than you at something but if you let them they will domineer the situation. I've met way more 'snooty' dog people while out and about, and certainly some eccentric ones too! Generally speaking they come up with very weird interpretations of what cat- people and their motivations are like.

People who like dogs had parents who took care of them really well so that they could be able to take care of themselves and others one day..
People who like cats had parents who were gone unavailable emotionally or physically for whatever reason. People that have cats want bonds with someone but don't know how to start- so we start off easy.. with cats.

There is no difference!
Both are animal lovers, whether it be a cat, dog, reptile, fish, birds etc. We all just have our own preference.

I think dog people find that dogs are easier to train, dogs want to please, they are more inclined to please you. Whereas cats are harder to train, i'm going through it right now with a new kitten who is determined to pee on my clothes instead of in her tray, although she happily poops in her tray?? Cats don't pay attention to a stern 'no' even if they do, they tend to try their luck first. They are more frustrating than dogs in the way that they don't accept the rules as easily as dogs do.

People who like cats might be more indoorsy. Or have too busy a lifestyle to be able to take care of a pet. They don't need to emotionally bond with an animal.
People who like dogs are active with their pet. They enjoy nurturing and like to have an interactive relationship with their pet.
