They teach in high school that it's impossible. But I have it.
Since 8th grade I'd have periods once a year. Went on like that for about 2-3 years, on the 2nd or 3rd year it went up to max 2 periods a year, then resently it was about 3 or 4 this year. I am 17 now, really confused, don't know what is this, why is this happening. I'm beganing to get consirned if my rare period could affect my weight, because I am doing everything I can. I exercise about 2 hours a week, I don't eat junk food, don't drink pop or sodas, and I am 17 , 5''1 and 145 lb. Anybody can relate??

It is possible to have one period a year but that is only if one is using medication to treat certain kinds of medical conditions such as endometriosis. For natural to have one period a year that is not normal and can indicate a hormone imbalance. The only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think is going on.

I had the same problem. When I was about 18 I would only get my period every couple months. I'm 22 now and though they are still somewhat erratic I usually get them about every month.

If you are worried about it you can always go on the pill to regulate your period and then you would get it every month.
