I have an '05 Subaru Forester XT. When I go to stop or slow down and shift from 3 or 4 to 2 my engine stalls. I have taken it to Subaru and they did a 60,000 mile tune up, changed the neutralizing shift, and the air fuel filter (that was the code the car gave the computer). But nothing has worked. Anybody have a subaru that does this or any advise. My car has been in the shop for just about a month now.

I wish I was there in person!!!! Try shampooing the engine compartment to remove "hot spots" on the engine, then remove the snorkel that runs to your throttle body assembly and clean the assembly and the hoses involved in crankcase ventilation. As your doing this, examine all rubberized air components and vacuum tubes to make sure that they are still supple and not squishy or too old to do their jobs. Remove any"goo" that may have accumulated on the air-flow metering box with Gum-out and write to me later. Good luck
